Chardonnay 550, 2018

A pure, elegant, Chardonnay grown in the cooler high altitude vineyards above Barossa Valley. Harvests take place at night to further benefit from cool temperatures and the wine is barrel-fermented to add depth and complexity before ageing in steel tanks. Mountadam was founded in 1972 by the icon of Australian winemaking, David Wynn. The winery's location at 550m above sea level, the highest in South Australia, was the vital factor in his ambition to create cool climate, beautifully crafted wines grown in the cool breezy air above the Barossa Valley, in the district known fittingly as High Eden.
